Jason L. Butts

Jason L. Butts, EMT-P, Lieutenant with a Colorado Front Range fire and rescue department. Jason has worked in busy metropolitan systems within the Greater Los Angeles area, San Bernardino County, California, and Denver, Colorado. Holding a primary instructor and Fire Instructor I certification, Jason has provided many hours of continuing, primary, drill and scenario based education to multiple agencies.  He has spoken nationally and locally on EMS performance improvement, trauma care continuum, and cardiac care.  

Jason has participated as a SWAT Medic for a local law enforcement agency and has held the position of Medical Unit Leader for the Douglas County Type 4 Incident Management Team.  Currently, Jason is a fourth year Executive Fire Officer Program (EFOP) candidate with plans to complete the program in 2015.

  • Some of Jason’s professional certifications include: NREMT-Paramedic, CPR, ACLS (instructor), PEPP (instructor), Fire Officer I, Hazmat Technician, Fire Inspector, Incident Safety Officer, Driver Operator qualifications, and multiple ICS levels.
  • Jason holds a B.S. degree in Fire Science Management with an emphasis in Emergency and Disaster Management and an A.S. in Public Service.  He has been in the field of emergency services for 20 years.
